Age Verification Policy
SouthernAlpsPlay (southernalpsplay.com) uses age-gating and identity checks to help prevent underage access. Last updated: 5 March 2026.
1) Minimum age
You must be at least the legal gambling age in your jurisdiction to access or use any real-money gambling features. In New Zealand, the minimum age is generally 18 for Lotto and sports betting (TAB) and 20 for entry to casinos. We may apply the higher threshold where relevant to the products offered on our site.
2) Your obligations
- Provide accurate personal details (including date of birth) and keep them up to date.
- Do not allow anyone under the legal age to use your account, device, payment method, or login credentials.
- Co-operate with our verification requests promptly; access may be limited until verification is complete.
3) How we verify age
We use a combination of measures, which may include:
- Age-gating at registration (date of birth entry and confirmation).
- Automated/electronic checks against trusted data sources where available.
- Document checks (e.g., passport, driver licence, or other government-issued ID) and, where needed, proof of address.
- Ongoing monitoring for risk indicators (e.g., inconsistent details, payment risk, or account behaviour).
We may restrict gameplay and/or withdrawals until verification is successfully completed.
4) Underage access and outcomes
If we reasonably suspect an account is underage, we may immediately suspend access while we investigate. If an account is confirmed to be underage:
- We will close the account and block further use.
- We will cancel eligibility for promotions/bonuses and may void related benefits where permitted by law and our terms.
- We will handle funds in accordance with applicable law and our internal controls (which may include returning deposits to the originating payment method where lawful and feasible, and preventing withdrawals until the review is complete).
- We may retain records and, where required, make reports to relevant authorities.
5) Data use and retention
We process identification and verification information to meet compliance obligations, prevent fraud, and protect minors. We keep verification data only as long as necessary for these purposes and as required by law. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle personal information.
